Bishop Herman College (BHC) was founded on February 28, 1952. It is the first all male Secondary School established in the Volta Region of Ghana by the Roman Catholic Church .
The school was the brain child of Dutch missionaries and it is one of the best performing Senior High Schools in Ghana, both academically and in co-curriclar activities.
The school was named in honor of French missionary Bishop Augustine Herman who served in the Keta Diocese of the Gold Coast (now known as Ghana) from 1923 - 1945.
